Rick Kiefer, Esq.

 Rick Kiefer has for 20 years represented sophisticated landowners and developers in a wide range of real estate transactions and development. After several years as a partner in one of Hawaii’s largest law firms, Rick started our firm in 2003.

  As lead-counsel on large real estate transactions, Rick has extensive experience including commercial, hotel, golf course, high-end residential and raw land purchases and sales. His recent development experience includes residential and resort condominiums, subdivisions and mixed-use urban projects. He has also represented large landowners in creating conservation easements, negotiating renewable energy leases, and dealing with title, water and entitlement issues.

  Best Lawyers® has designated Rick as the Lawyer of the Year for Real Estate in Hawaii for 2012.

  Rick has an "AV® Preeminent™” Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell and is currently listed in Best Lawyers in America®, the Chambers USA Client’s Guide to America’s Leading Lawyers for Business®, the 2011 Hawaii Super Lawyers® and Honolulu Magazine’s Best Lawyers in Hawaii®. He has served as a Director and Chair of the Real Property and Financial Services Section of the Hawaii State Bar Association. He was also an active member of the Blue Ribbon Condominium Recodification Committee that drafted the new Hawaii Condominium Act that took effect in 2006, and he currently is contract consultant to the State of Hawaii Real Estate Commission regarding condominium registrations. He often speaks at legal education seminars and has authored articles on a variety of real estate practice areas.

  In 1991, Rick received his law degree from the University of California, Davis School of Law, where he was Articles Editor of the U.C. Davis Law Review. He is a 1987 graduate of the University of California, Irvine.
